I got into a car accident 2 years ago and I'm in constant extreme pain and weakness from my shoulder. The only down side may be that although the relaxers will help the back pain by quelling spasms, they may not be as effective in treating the pinched nerves, depending on exactly how they are pinched and what symptoms are being caused. Unfortunately just about every form of treatment will have some sedating effect which naturally will carry some 'addiction' potential.
I am very hopeful about this since my sister is benefiting! Marie hey marie, its me leanne, im starting a lower dose of my tapering to day so please wish me luck and say a prayer for me, and casey whatever you do stay away from opiate pain pills.
All in all, I'd suggest discussing muscle relaxers with your doctor to take the place of the clonazepam to see if he or she feels that it could be an alternative for you. Not sure how much help I will be but I'm currently being treated for Lupus Joint pain and take Savella, Lyrica, Sulfasalazine and Vicodin for flare ups which helped that type of pain.
I had back surgery 3 months ago which failed and I have extreme pain in my buttocks and down my left leg.
This pain keeps me from getting more than 2-3 hours of sleep at a time!
I take Norco 10/325 up to 8 a day and Opana ER 10mg every 8 hours.
I just started the Opana ER after being on MS Contin 30mg every 8 hours. Casey, I'm sorry I just seen non-narcotic so please disregard my last post about the Opana and Norco.
